Busching Bridge

Crossing Laughery Creek near the entrance to Versailles State Park, this 176 foot long Howe truss structure was built by Thomas A. Hardman in 1865. After having some restoration work in 1993, the Busching bridge underwent complete restoration in 2005 and is now open to traffic.

Established in 1816 and named in honor of General E.W. Ripley, a commander during the War of 1812, this county is located in Southeastern Indiana where Versailles is the County Seat.

Ripley County originally had eleven (11) covered bridges. Today it has two (2) remaining.

Points of interest in the County include: The Tysen United Church and Versailles State Park.
