The Crown Point Bridge
World Guide #14-45-01

Crown Point

Originally know as the Milroy or Shelborne bridge, this structure crossed Little Flatrock River in Rush County before being moved to the Crown Point Fairgrounds in 1933. Constructed with a Burr Arch truss, this 100-foot long structure was built by A.M. Kennedy & Sons in 1878. The bridge now crosses a ravine and is open to traffic.

Established in 1836 and named because of its shoreline on Lake Michigan, this county is located in Northwestern Indiana where Crown Point is the County Seat.

Lake County originally did not have any covered bridges; today it has one (1).

Points of interest in the County include: Lake Michigan and the Dunes State Park.
